Introduction
Business is vitally related with our life. With the increase of modern
business, the importance of business studies is being expanded higher and
higher. Relating with the BBA Program Economic Proves it significance in every
way. Analyzing Market system is also important in Economics.
The market structure is divided into four parts: pure competition,
monopolistic competition, oligopoly and pure monopoly. Now I would like to
drawn my attention on monopolistic market, a market dominated by many producers
of defecates. Monopolistic may pellet from internal growth of firms, mergers or
both. The example of monopolistic are retail trade dresses, shoes etc. I am
willing to prepare my report on “SQUARE
PHARMACEUTICALS” which is a monopolistic competitor.
Some common
characteristics of monopolistic competition are given below:
(a) Product Differentiation
(b) Existence of many firms supplying the market
(c) The goods made by them are close substitutes
(d) Some control over price
(e) Relatively
easy entrance into the market etc.
Based on the analysis, the effects of monopolistic competition are as
follows:
i. Unlike pure competition, under monopolistic competition,
output is slightly less and the prices slightly higher.
ii. Under monopolistic competition, the consumers have the
Pleasure of enjoying the use of wider range of goods in types, design and
quality.
iii. The firms engage in high Pressure salesmanship, the
expenditure on which does not confer on the community proportional benefit.
iv. Under monopolistic competition, inefficient firms are helped
to carry on.
I am so much interested in “SQUARE PHARMACEUTICALS” because it is doing
best as one of the pharmaceuticals of our country.
BACKGROUND
I am a student of Department of
Marketing. So, in future I am going to deal with business. Every business firms
needs to prepare report on different occasions. The ability to prepare a report
is regarded as an extra ordinary quality of an executive.
Realizing the fact our honorable
course teacher Mr. Razib Alam ordered us to prepare a report. This report is
especially for the honor of our course teacher.
I think that this report will help me
a lot in my practical life. My errors will also be determined and corrected.
Thus it’s a great opportunity for me. I am again thankful to my honorable
course teacher Mr. Razib Alam.

To identify the activities of Square
Pharmaceuticals as a monopolistic market model.

METHODOLOGY
Methodology means how resources are used to produce anything. It is a
step by circle to make report systematic and more accurate. I have followed a
methodology to prepare the report on Square Pharmaceuticals as a monopolistic
market.
–Source of data: Secondary data is collected.
–Data collection technique: Own website of Square Pharmaceuticals.
–Sample size: No separate
sample is used to continue the methodology.
Literature review:
* Monopolistic
competition refers to a market situation in which there are many producers
producing goods, which are close substitutes of one another on where output is
differentiated
– K.K. Duet.
·
A firm under monopolistic competition
or imperfect competition produces an output in the long run equilibrium, which
is less than socially optimum or ideal output.
– Chamberlin and
Juan Robinson
* Monopolistic
competition involves a relatively large number of firms operating in a no
collusive way and producing differentiated Products with easy industry entry
and exit.
–
Mc Connel and Brue

An industry structure such as that described
above shares elements of both competition and monopoly, it is referred to as
monopolistic competition.
— Hal R. Varian
* Monopolistic
competition resembles perfect competition in three ways there is many buyers
and sellers entry and exit are easy and firms take other firms’ Prices as
given. The distinction is that Products are identical under perfect
competition, while under monopolistic competition they are differentiated.
–Samuelson, Nordhaus
