CINEMATOGRAPH ACT, 1918

CINEMATOGRAPH ACT (II of 1918)

Section—2(b)

Cinematograph-meaning
of — VideoCassettee player, whether falls within the expression ‘composite
equipment’ used in section 2(b) of the Act.

A
careful reading of section 2(b) of the Cinematograph Act does not show that it
excludes Video-Cassettee player—A restricted meaning cannot be given to the
expression “Cinematograph” used in the section— The word is comprehensive
enough to include a Video-Cassette player as the expression “Cinematograph” means
a composite equipment used for production, projection and exhibition of motion
picture film—Therefore, Video—Cassettee player falls within the expression
‘composite equipment’ used in section 2(b) of the Act.
