DHAKA METROPOLITAN POLICE ORDINANCE, 1978

Section 4—A close look into section 4 of the said Ordinances vis-a-vis sections 10, 18, 20 and 21 of the Code, it would appear that in a Metropolitan Area some of the powers which were dealt with by the District Magistrate, have been given to the Police Commissioner, and some of them have been given to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrates and Metropolitan Magistrates, debarring the District Magistrate to exercise all or any of the powers which could be exercised by him before the promulgation of the said Ordinances and the amendments made in the Code and the Special Powers Act.
