INTEL CORPORATION AND ITS FUNCTIONING

1.0 Introduction:

Intel Corporation is a leading technological manufacturer that largely can be credited with many of today’s technological advances, innovations and developments – it is hardly can be accused of seeking to curb the growth of the internet or computer technology. Intel introduces the first microprocessor in late 1971 that is only 4-bit processor but in this time Intel discovers multi core processor and next generation 45nm processor that is more effective to the 65nm processor. Intel is the leading corporation for the producing chipset in the world. AMD (advance micro device) is the second largest chip producer in the world and the main competitor of Intel. Recently AMD take an action for discover a better chip to the Intel. Therefore, Intel faces a competition and Intel declare reduce the product price and so much expense for research.

2.0 Limitation:

Ø There are limited numbers of literature or secondary data available on this research.

Ø There were some irrelevant works to be done.

Ø Intel follows the moor’s low for the produce of micro processor.

3.0 Method used:

The methodology of this report consists of several criterions. Practical observation will emphasize. Almost the entire report will consists of our practical observation. While preparing the report, we will gather our information from the following sources:

Ø Intel Corporation profile.

Ø Intel Corporation Annual report.

Ø Website of Intel Corporation.

4.0: Profile of Intel Corporation:

Intel is the most common name for chip producer in the world. The history of microcomputer, in the beginning period Intel produces a silicon chip (4004) that is the world first commercially available microprocessor. The chip is a 4-bit computer contain

Around 1978-1979 Intel took the next step up by introducing the 8086 processor. This was one of the earlier 16-bit processors. IBM decided to us it. Around 1984-1985 Intel introduced the 80286, which added more sophisticated memory management. In 1987 the 80386 became available. This was a 32 bit word machine with real memory management (paging). In 1990, the 80486 arrived sporting an integrated floating-point unit and higher performance. The Pentium was introduced around 1992-93. When Intel produce first chip 4004 than Intel follow a law that is Moore’s low. Moore’s law system the number of transistors that could be placed on a single chip will double every 18month.

6.0: Characteristic:

Intel mainly produces chipset and processor Intel also includes education initiative work. And help education sector .recently Intel release classmate PC that is helpful for the student. Intel always care student because Intel believe student are at the center of the learning process– Well designed project-based units engage students in open-ended, authentic tasks. Compelling project tasks empower students to make decisions and apply their interests and passions to culminating products and performances. Students learn through inquiry and have some control over decisions about how they complete project tasks. The teacher takes on the role of a facilitator or coach. Students often work in collaborative groups, assuming roles that make best use of their individual talents. Intel use transistor. The transistor characteristics report on the Intel GE28F320B3TD-70 32M Advanced Boot Block Flash Memory (0.13 µm process) provides key electrical measurements of NMOS and PMOS transistors, including transfer characteristics (ID vs. VGS), output characteristics (ID vs. VDS), body effect, substrate current, punch through and snapback characteristics with voltage swings of 2.5 V and 2.1 V for both NMOS and PMOS transistors at well bias (VB) of 0 V for the PMOS transistors, and 0 V, -0.5 V, -0.61 V, -0.63 V, and -VDS/2 for the NMOS transistors. The linear and saturation threshold voltages, sub-threshold swing, Tran conductance, drive current, saturation and leakage currents are also provided. The report also includes SEM topographical and cross-section images of the measured transistors. When we discuss Intel characteristics than becomes investment characteristics. Intel investment many countries. Intel makes investment for the geographic separation. Intel always research for new technology. That is helpfully for people.

7.0: Intel Function:

Returns the number of bytes that will be allocated for each parallel thread to use as its private stack. This value can be changed with kmp_set_stacksize_s () prior to the first parallel region or with the KMP_STACKSIZE environment variable. Sets to size the number of bytes that will be allocated for each parallel thread to use as its private stack. This value can also be set via the KMP_STACKSIZE environment variable. In order for kmp_set_stacksize_s () to have an effect, it must be called before the beginning of the first (dynamically executed) parallel region in the program. Allocate memory block of size bytes from thread-local heap. Free memory block at address ptr from thread-local heap. Memory must have been previously allocated with kmp_malloc (), kmp_calloc (), or kmp_realloc ().

8.0: Strategy:

After eight weeks of final negotiations earlier this year, Washington County, the City of Hillsboro and Intel Corporation have arrived at a tentative agreement to provide an alternative tax structure for qualified Intel investment under Oregon’s Strategic Investment Program (SIP). Created by the 1993 Legislature, SIP was designed to increase Oregon’s ability to attract and retain capital-intensive industry and jobs, particularly in the high-technology industry. The tentative agreement will be considered by the County Board of Commissioners and City Council during a public hearing planned for 6 p.m. on May 17, 2005, at the Hillsboro Civic Center, 150 East Main Street, Hillsboro. Public testimony will be welcome. Currently three Intel-Washington County SIP agreements are in place, two approved in 1994 and a third in 1999. The 1994 agreements granted an alternative property tax structure for qualified Intel investment of up to $3 billion. The 1999 agreement took a similar approach for qualified Intel investment up to $12.5 billion between the tax years 2000-01 and 2014-15. If approved, the proposed new agreement would provide a framework for potential additional Intel investment in Oregon of up to $25 billion over a 15-year period expected to begin as soon as 2008 or as late as 2013. The new agreement would also establish a method for dealing with investment that might occur during an overlapping period covered by both the 1999 agreement and the 2005 proposal. Ø Intel produce two types of motherboards there are- server board and desktop board.

17.0 Conclusion:

Intel start their operation in 1971, the operation result is 4 bid micro processor (4004). It is the primary period for micro processor system now Intel continues their research and explores the new type processor. Intel continuous research result is the 45nm processor. Now Intel introduce Intel is the world largest manufacturer. Intel believes Intel re-take lost market to the AMD (advance micro device). Intel continuous reduces their price for the poor country. Intel taking a big world wide action for the rural areas internet development and making a WIFI zone. This action is effective for the every poor country like Bangladesh. Because communication is the main points to development any country.
