RE:     Legal Opinion on tampering of Cheque for Tk. 20,00,000.00, Company 1, presented to Bank 1.

We refer to your letter no. JBL/MHK/F.EX/2006/5027 dated 03 October 2006 on the above subject.

If the statements made in your letter are correct, then the steps taken by Bank 1 was unprofessional. Before considering taking any action, you should take up this issue of tampering of cheque with the Managing Director of National Bank Ltd. through the Managing Director of Bank 2.

Please notify us about the outcome of the steps as suggested between the Managing Directors. Depending on the outcome of that action, we will give our legal opinion.
